Support HaKol
Hakol DC is a tax-exempt public charity: Hakol DC Corporation (with Federal tax ID number 41-3583703) has been determined to be a section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. As such, donations are exempt from Federal and State taxation to the extent provided in law. Hakol DC welcomes gifts of any size at any time to support our mission.
Ways to Support:
We are currently accepting donations—
- made online through Zeffy (see link below); and
- made by check to "Hakol DC Corporation" and sent c/o HakolDC Treasurer, 8505 Salem Way, Bethesda, MD 20814, whether the donation is through a personal or corporate account, through a DAF (donor-advised fund), or as a QCD (qualified charitable distribution) from an IRA.
Taking advantage of possible tax breaks in how you donate
If you are a retiree age 70-1/2+ and have an IRA, it may be to your financial advantage to make a donation directly from your IRA to HakolDC (or another qualifying charity) as a "qualified charitable distribution" (or "QCD").
For those who have established a donor-advised fund (or "DAF"s), HakolDC qualifies as eligible for a grant from almost all DAF's as a public charity exempt from tax under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code.
If you would like to donate securities to HakolDC, please email our treasurer@hakoldc.org to see how this might be arranged.
If none of the aforementioned apply, note that recent tax law changes permit cash donations to public charities (like HakolDC) to be deductible subject to a $1,000 (or $2,000 for joint return) limit.
These are choices best discussed with your tax or financial advisor.
Suggested levels for donations:
For all, we urge you to donate at a level you can afford. For singers, in order to cover our fixed costs (such as for rehearsals, music, and overhead), we suggest you consider donating at a level of $300 for a full season or $150 for just the fall semester or just the spring semester.
Special thanks:
In our first, full season, in addition to the generous support provided by our singers, we want to acknowledge and thank funding provided by the Hadar Community Groups and the support of the Edlavitch DCJCC and Bet Mishpachah.
